A Touch of Craft

Marilyn Chasse Truax is a self-taught decorative artist, who began painting as a stencil artist in 1981 after attending a class at the local town hall. She quickly discovered the fun and freedom of freehand decorative painting using acrylics and hasn’t stopped painting since. She has a special fondness for Santa, whether painted on dry gourds or wooden shapes. Painted gourds have been known to last for several decades, even a century or more.

All her ornaments are dated and can be personalized. New items from original ideas are continually added to her inventory. She has recently included furniture and wall murals to her list of decorative painting and endeavors, and does custom work for clients.
